Entertainment

Want to stroll along the green allees, or take the kids to the zoo, or maybe do some sports together? You will never be bored in Berlin.

Parks and Beaches

Strandbad Wannsee

Berliners are hardly landlocked. When summers are sweltering, residents head to the Strandbad Wannsee, considered the largest inland beach in Europe. The S1 line runs from Oranienburg Station to Wannsee. Be sure to bring sunscreen!

Tiergarten

This enormous stretch of woodland could be called Berlin's Central Park. Acres of meadows and gardens, broken only by placid lakes and the grand boulevard Straße des 17 Juni, unfold in the middle of the city, providing a relaxing backdrop for picnics, bike riding, and simple strolls with loved ones. The main entrance to the park lies just beyond the Zoologischer Garten.

Zoos

The eldest zoo in Germany is the "Zoologischer Garten". In the centre of the city you can find over 15.000 animals, a special house for night-active animals and an excellent aquarium.

In the eastern part of the city there is "Tierpark Friedrichsfelde", the park around the Schloss Friedrichsfelde has been altered to a wide parkland with enclosures that are harmoniously inserted in the landscape.

Running

The Runner's Club (Laufclub) SCC in cooperation with the Landessportbund Berlin LSB Berlin offers a daily running training in the morning for Berlin visitors. Under professional instruction from trainers of the SCC berlin, who speak various foreign languages, the participants jog along many interesting sights through the Tiergarten. Depending on the runner's level, there are tours for 30 or 60 minutes. Meeting-point is 7.45 a.m. at the Siegessäule or 8 p.m. at the Brandenburger Gate. The training is free of charge, registration ist not necessary.
